CICB host sustainability conference

The 3^rdCICB Sustainability Forum organised by the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) took place in Novo Hamburgo on August 21. The conference focused on sustainability in the supply chain for leather and leather products.

Speakers included people from the leather, fashion and design industries both from Brazil and around the world. The event centered on a day of presentations looking at topics including sustainable luxury and environmental management.

The 3^rdCICB Sustainability Forum took place in Novo Hamburgo (RS) at Fenac Exhibition Centre. As an international event, Portuguese-English simultaneous interpreting was provided. The forum was co-organised by ABQTIC and is sponsored by JBS Couros, Stahl, Fenac and BASF with support from Apex-Brasil, Minerva Leather, AicSul and IBTeC.

As well as the presentations there was a discussion panel including Roberto Motta, JBS Couros, Cezar Müller, A.P. Müller, scientists Rosa Alegria, Master of Science in Foresight and Brigitte Wegner from BASF. Presenters also included, David Fernandes, from the Brazilian tannery Coming, Bill Amberg, a Designer who specializes in leather for interior design and leather goods, and Guy Morgan from the Sustainable Luxury Working Group based in Paris.
