The themes covered include design, environment, chemical and automation technology as well as a background to the leather industry from Brazil and what it has to offer.

The seminars are organised by the Brazilian Center for the Tanning Industry, CICB and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil). More than 20,000 people are expected to attend the APLF between March 31 – April 2, which will also see the participation of 35 tanneries from Brazil, supported by the Brazilian Leather project.

The free seminars will take in the Leather Club on Concourse 1 of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The programme is as follows:

11-11.45am: Leather Technological Centre – SENAI presents: Analysis of the Performance of Brazilian Leather Regarding the Presence of Restricted Substances.  Speaker: Lucas Zoldan, Analytical Centre of Laboratories, SENAI (technical institute). 

12.15–1pm: Brazilian Leather – High Performance Leather Business. Speaker: Rogério de Souza Di Domenico Cunha, Trade Intelligence at the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) (Trade organisation).

1.15-2pm:  The World Changes; The Design Changes. It’s time for “Design na Pele”. Speaker: Maurício Medeiros, Design na Pele Project Manager at CICB (Designer).

2.30-3.15pm: Coming and Sustainability Speaker: Rafael Mariño, Export Manager at Coming (Brazilian tannery).

3.45-4.45pm: JBS Couros – Sustainability throughout the Value Chain. Speaker: Fernando Bellese, Marketing and Sustainability Manager at JBS Couros (Tanner and hide processor).

5.15pm–6pm: Export of Brazilian Technology and Software for the Tannery Market Worldwide. Speaker: Douglas Bauer Correa, Project Manager at Systemhaus (tannery automation).
