The latest webinar organised by ILM in association with theSauerReport and sponsored by PrimeAsia and the Leather and Hide Council of America (LHCA) will explore a range of topics around ethical sourcing, animal welfare best practice, regenerative agriculture, supply chain mapping and traceability frameworks. The webinar will be broadcast on May 6, 2021 at 2pm UK time (3pm CET) and is free-to-attend, subject to approved registration.
The webinar, “Ethical Sourcing, animal welfare and leathermaking”, moderated by ILM Editor Isabella Griffiths, features three high-profile speakers who will be sharing their expertise and latest sourcing and traceability initiatives. Stephen Sothmann, President of the Leather and Hide Council of America (LHCA), will outline Ethical Sourcing Strategies in the U.S. Leather Supply Chain while Fernando Bellese, Chief Sustainability Officer at U.S. headquartered tanner PrimeAsia, will provide an overview of the company’s Responsibly Raised Programme. Completing the speaker line-up, Mike Gass, Lead Developer, Advanced Materials at global footwear and apparel brand Timberland, will outline the company’s recently launched sourcing initiative which sees the company build a new supply chain, sourcing leather from regenerative agricultural farms and placing circularity at the heart of its brand DNA.
