Building on the success of the materials and component sourcing shows in the U.S., the exhibition organiser, American Events, told ILM its first European event in London has attracted nearly 60 exhibitors with 300 buyers from international brands expected to attend over the two days. The first day of the event included a discussion led by consultants, the Footwearists, about local manufacturing in the UK and concluded with research and testing organisation SATRA, hosting an evening reception to celebrate its 100th anniversary. Exhibitors include U.S. companies Wolverine Worldwide Leathers and LeatherWorks, Tyche Leather from China as well as Footwear Elite, showing leathers from Chinese and Pakistan tanneries. SATRA was also an exhibitor and sponsor of the show.

Several exhibitors commented to ILM that the quality of the visitors was high and showed enthusiasm for the events’ future. Targeted visitors pay a fee to attend the event.
