The French car parts producer is to invest €8 million in its largest production unit in Romania, creating 1,600 jobs in what is said to be the company’s largest plant.
The construction of the 12,000 sq m manufacturing plant is underway and should be completed in February 2016.
Faurecia produces car parts, including car seats, for Ford, Renault-Nissan, Peugeot, BMW, Daimler, General Motors, Toyota, and Hyundai. The company already has factories in Pitesti, Craiova, and Talmaciu in the Sibiu County.
