The decision to bring the trade event forward by a few days was taken after a meeting with different organisations, and following a survey conducted with both exhibitors and visitors. “The goal of the change was to adapt to the calendar of national and international public holidays, ensuring that the fair would not clash with other events in the leather and footwear industry, and be able to welcome the qualified audience it has received in previous editions”, said the organisers in a statement.

The 41st edition of Fimec took place on March 14-16, 2017 in Novo Hamburgo, Brazil, and attracted 500 exhibitors from the machinery, components, leather and chemical segments. Once again, the event hosted the Concept Factory experience which produced around 5,000 pairs of shoes over the three-day event.

The 2018 edition is scheduled to take place a little earlier, on March 6-8 at the usual Fenac Exhibition Grounds.
