Xavier Rougeaux stepped down in January as Smythson of Bond Street’s Chief Executive after two years in charge. He has been appointed as the CEO of Italian luxury leather goods specialist Valextra. Rougeaux is the fourth CEO in charge of the Milan based brand in a decade. Meanwhile, Smythson is being led by Jacques Bahbout, the Chairman of Italian accessories giant Tivoli Group, Smythson’s parent company since 2009. Founded in 1887, Smythson’s most recent accounts show a £7.8 million (US$10.97 million) loss before tax.
