Zas Couros, Finileather Couros, Soubach Special Leathers, and Couros Nobre have entered the process of accreditation for best practices in the three elements of environment, society and economy.
“We recognise that the CSCB is a major step for the leather industry in terms of sustainability. Our company believes that this certification will create parameters for the sector, helping to constantly improve its processes within the three pillars of sustainability; economic, environmental and social”, said Rafael Luis Petry, Finileather Couros e Acabamentos
Pedro Tunholi from Soubach Special Leathers said that one of the tannery’s main concerns regards the fact that consumers are “increasingly valuing positive environmental practices” and so he expects the programme to strengthen the Company’s relationship with its clients, as well as open the doors to new markets.

In Brazil, two tanneries have so far been certified since the launch of the programme in 2014; Fuga Couros (Silver level) and Courovale by BCM (Gold level).
