Hosted by the French Leather Council (CNC), the morning programme will be divided into two sessions after the opening speeches. Under the theme ‘Actors in the fashion and luxury markets moving towards CSR’, the first session will discuss how fashion can improve its image as a polluting industry and consumer expectations. Speakers include Christelle Capdupuy, Global Sustainable Development Director at Louis Vuitton, Edwige Rey, Partner for CSR and Sustainable Development at Mazars, and Yann Gloux, CSR Analyst at Ecovadis. The second session, titled ‘CSR, from farming to finished leathers’, will address how leather’s environmental performance can be improved throughout the supply chain, as well as its impact on society as a whole. Participants include Egbert Dikkers, Chairman, Leather Naturally; Rafael Andrade, Spokesperson for the CSCB (Brazilian Leather Sustainability Certification); and Grahame Webb, Professor, Crocodile Specialist Group.
After a roundtable discussion joined by David Grangeré, Director at French meat processor Bigard; Nicholas Butler, International Director at Covico; Jean-Christophe Muller, Director, Tanneries Haas; Olivier Raynaud, Owner and Manager at veg tanning specialist Raynaud Jeune; Cédric Vigier, Innovation Manager at CTC; and Gustavo Gonzalez Quijano, Secretary-General, Cotance, the morning session will end with a keynote speech by Maire-Claire Daveu, Director of Sustainable Development and International Institutional Affairs at Kering.
Focus on footwear and luxury goods
The afternoon session will begin with a panel titled ‘Manufacturing, sourcing, distribution and CSR in footwear’, during which the various market challenges faced by the footwear sector will be addressed by Jennifer Schappert Champeaux, Policy Advisor, Textile & Garment, Responsible Business Conduct Unit, OECD, and Alan Fustec, Director General at Goodwill Management. This will be followed by a second roundtable discussion joined by Nicolas Mille, President, Gaston Mille; Anne-Céline Humeau, CEO, Innoshoe; Gauthier Bedek, R&D Director, ERAM; Guillaume Alcan, Co-founder, Manager of E-commerce and Production, Moustache; Thierry Poncet, Manager, Leather and Sustainable Development Departments at CTC; and Francisco Valente, Leather Conception Leader, Decathlon.
During a panel titled ‘The sustainable approach in the leather goods sector’, Fella Imalhayene, General Delegate at Global Compact France and Emmanuel Pommier, Managing Director of the Artisanal Leather goods and saddlery section at Hermès, will address the issue of sustainability in the luxury leather goods sector. The panel will be followed by a final roundtable discussion joined by Jean-Yves Chauvy, President, SIS; Ange Alez Martin, CEO, Créations JC Perrin; Delphine Sarfati-Sobreira, Managing Director, UNIFAB; and Chantal Malingrey, Marketing and Development Director at Premiere Vision Group, before the closing speeches, which will be followed by a cocktail.
