As an international not-for-profit membership organisation and co-ordinator of the leading ESG standard for the leather industry, the LWG will speak on how it is accelerating positive change both through the LWG audit standard and strategic projects.

Key focus areas include properly quantifying the environmental footprint of leather, as well as developing traceability and due diligence upstream in the supply chain, especially related to deforestation and animal welfare.

Created in 2005, the LWG was originally founded by brands and manufacturers to drive sustainability improvements in the leather industry. Today, it has more than 1,500 members and partners worldwide, including brands and retailers, traders, manufacturers, suppliers, associations, NGOs and technical experts.

Most recently, she was responsible for managing the Adidas leather portfolio in the footwear material sourcing team in Hong Kong. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Chemical Engineering, and an MSc in Sustainable Energy Engineering from the University of Cape Town.
