“Leather industry must adapt to survive” is a 20-minute episode featuring three articles by ILM columnist Michael Redwood, which have been published in the Comments section of the ILM website. The first article, “Getting the industry to 2050”, takes a historical look and discusses tanning methodologies, while “Leather making is difficult, but we have to remain aware” tackles bad journalism and the changes in supply and demand. Finally, “New Product Development is back with a vengeance” looks at the consolidation within the chemical industry, the increased regulatory demands and how a generational shift has been taking place in the industry.

Each episode is designed to appeal to all parts of the leather supply chain, including tanners, traders, suppliers, academia and research organisations, OEMs, brands and retailers. To download or listen to the free-of-charge podcasts, please click here.
