Thomas Schneider, founder and Executive Chairman of international tanning Group, ISA TanTec, will share his insights on how innovation will push forward a sustainable company in conserving natural resources and creating more energy efficiency. He will also talk about the importance of the corporate culture, the transparency of supply chain and the collaboration of industry stakeholders in preparing a better future. The speech will also touch on the possible opportunities and constraints for the sustainability issues facing the global tanning industry.

After completing his Master Degree of Tanning Engineering 1980, Schneider established his first own tannery Guangzhou TanTec in 1993. Outside the Company, he advocates for cooperate social responsibility, environmental protection and community work. He is also the Co-Chairman of Ecological Development Union International and was for many years member of the Executive Committee of Leather Working Group as well as the Chairman of Foreign Tanners of China.

Although TanTec started at a small scale, the Company has grown into a global tanning group and is well recognised as an eco-friendly leather manufacturer known for its LITE (Low Impact to the Environment) Trademark, with four ultra-modern tanneries located in the U.S., Vietnam, China and Italy. In addition to the four existing plants, ISA is planning to build its second tannery in Vietnam and fifth overall.
