In June 2020, the Executive Committee of the International Union of Leather Technologists and Chemists Societies (IULTCS) announced the 2021 grants would be awarded to three young scientists, under the age of 35, for research projects in the categories of ‘Leather Research’, ‘Machinery/Equipment’ and ‘Sustainability’. As reported by ILM, the first Professor Mike Redwood grant on for Sustainability/Environmental research projects, sponsored by the Leather Naturally initiative, has recently been awarded to Caroline Borges Agustini from Brazil for the project entitled “Hydrocarbon Release During the Biodegradation of Solid Waste from Tanneries for BIOGAS Production”.

Dr Mike Redwood has been an ILM columnist since 2013, contributing with weekly blog for the ILM website, a regular column for the bi-monthly print magazine, as well as a host of webinars and panel discussions.
