The Canadian division of the Brazil headquartered meatpacker will be tapping its existing brands, such as Northern Gold, which is certified to the standards of the Canadian Roundtable for Sustainable Beef. JBS is also to draw on its Canadian Diamond Black Angus brand, verified by the Canadian Angus Association, to fulfill its commitments to Kanematsu.

Privately held, Kanematsu Corporation is a trading company involved in various industries including electronics and devices, foods and grain, steel, materials, plants, aerospace and motor vehicles. Its Meat Products Division has a wide range of livestock products, including cattle, beef, pork, chicken and mutton as well as livestock processed goods.
