“Leather is an organic and highly durable product, but what makes Kind Leather truly sustainable is the way it is processed, using only those parts of the hide best suited for leather”, says Fernando Bellese, Marketing and Sustainability Manager, JBS Couros, who will make the presentation in Munich with a special focus on automotive leather. “We were able to create a higher quality product while avoiding waste and using fewer products to treat the hide”.

Kind Leather is also said to provide additional sustainability through its end-to-end traceability programme, which gathers data throughout the leather production chain, from the farm to the end product; a modern monitoring system oversees and verifies more than 80,000 cattle suppliers in Brazil to ensure they comply with the social and environmental standards set out in the Company’s Responsible Raw Material Procurement Policy.

JBS Couros is the leather Division of JBS SA headquartered in São Paulo, Brazil, the world’s largest protein provider and leather processor.

Fernando Bellese will be joined by speakers from Wollsdorf Leather, FILK, One4Leather and Frost & Sullivan during the conference. Further speakers and topics will be announced on the ILM website in the coming weeks.
