The group, which manages brands such as Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen, Bottega Veneta and Gucci, presents a global logistics hub covering more than 162,000 square metres, combining state-of-the-art technology and automation, scalability, innovative sustainability and features for the well-being of employees.

The hub will meet demand from regional warehouses, retail stores, wholesalers and e-commerce worldwide, and will significantly increase the group’s capabilities in terms of the shipping of up to 80 million pieces per year and the storing of up to 20 million pieces. It will also reduce lead times by 50% by increasing the speed of deliveries and enhancing collaboration with the group’s brands.

Over 250 people are currently employed at the facility, with the total number of staff planned to reach approximately 900 by the end of 2022.

This brand new facility is another testament to Kering’s commitment to Italy: the Group is continuing to invest in the country, not only in terms of its artisanal and managerial capabilities, but also its logistics competences and know-how.”

The Italian site will have one of Europe’s largest rooftop solar systems, saving an estimated 7,500 tons CO2 a year. The site will also be the first industrial complex in Italy to produce more energy than it consumes.

Both the shell and core warehouses and the offices will be LEED-certified, and are expected to achieve a Platinum rating, thereby becoming the first LEED Platinum certified warehouse in Europe. Offices are also seeking WELL certification to guarantee the best work environment for all employees, with the target of achieving a Gold rating.
