Discover how Evolve by Nature’s research into the biocompatibility of silk with the human body led to the revelation that activated silk, a molecule developed from a by-product just like leather, could match and even outperform current finishing chemicals.

Find out more about the next steps for sustainable leather and ask Dr Altman your questions in a Q&A session after the presentation, led by ILM Content Director Martin Ricker.

About Dr Greg Altman

Dr Greg Altman’s extensive research into silk’s biocompatibility with the human body led to the creation of Serica Technologies, where he developed the first FDA-approved silk-based medical device for soft tissue reconstruction.

After co-founding Evolved By Nature, his work with silk biocompatibility on skin quickly lead to product innovations for leather, and then for textiles. Dr Altman holds a PhD in Biotechnology Engineering and BSc in Chemistry from Tufts University.
