The event will include panellists from across the leather supply chain looking ahead at how supply to tanners through raw materials, environmental protection, chemicals and automation will shape leather production in the future.
Leading tanners and a leading athletic brand will also outline and debate their visions of the “Tannery of the Future” and how leather will fit into the footwear, leather goods and automotive supply chains to meet consumers expectations. Audience participation is encouraged with questions which can be proposed through a panel moderator.

Tannery of the Future – Leather Forum
Following on from the successful event held during the APLF in Hong Kong in March under the LeatherNaturally! umbrella, International Leather Maker (ILM) has teamed up with APLF Ltd, co-organisers of the All China Leather Exhibition (ACLE) 2016, to host a high-profile “Tannery of the Future” Leather Forum which will take place on Tuesday, August 30 2016 (1.30 – 4.30pm), the day before the start of ACLE, at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC).
Global leather chemical maker, LANXESS will be the lead sponsor of the event, which will feature some short presentations and two panel sessions covering different elements of the leather supply chain. The event is also sponsored by leather chemical makers, Zschimmer & Schwarz and supported by theSauerReport.com
It is open to anyone connected with the leather supply chain including raw materials suppliers, chemicals and machinery, technical bodies and associations, tanners, brands and retailers.
