A key highlight of this year’s programme will be a keynote address by Professor Dr Thomas Scholten, who will speak on “Global and regional nitrogen cycles and their influence on livestock farming.” Scholten is widely recognised for his expertise in soil science, biogeochemical cycles and sustainable land-use systems, and his presentation is set to provide valuable insights into the environmental dynamics shaping the sector.
Organisers have also extended the Call for Papers, with submissions open until March 31, 2026. Researchers and industry professionals are invited to submit presentation titles covering a range of topics, including new and alternative leather manufacturing technologies, advances in characterisation and analytics, sustainable raw materials and tanning processes, and innovations in processing, finishing, automation and digitalisation. Contributions exploring downstream industry trends and craft tanning in the context of Industry 4.0 are also encouraged.
