The news comes after the company agreed to acquire a 684,000 sq ft space on the former Cadillac Stamping site in Detroit.
Its Davison and Nevada plants are due to cease operations by June 30, according to WARN notices filed with the state.
While the closures will affect 558 employees, Lear Corp has reportedly offered to transfer or continue to employ nearly all of these members of staff, with layoffs for some.
The company is also reportedly planning to open an US$80 million plant in Independence Township for the production of battery disconnect units as well as another US$32.5 million in investment at other plants in Michigan, including Sterling Heights and Traverse City.
