The presentations will provide overviews and different perspectives on the market, including what impact Covid-19 may have on the automotive leather supply chain in the short and medium terms, key trends in automotive interiors and how leather can meet growing demand for increased performance and material innovation, as well as latest chemical developments in automotive leather applications and sustainability considerations for wet-end products.

Sustainability – Definitions and approaches for wet-end products
Dr Peter Thoma, Development Chemist at Zschimmer & Schwarz, will be among the presenters, covering the topic of sustainability and giving an overview of definitions and aspects of measurability, as well as applicability to wet-end products. Due to their divergent definitions of sustainability and sustainable products, it is not always easy to compare products offered by different chemical suppliers for auto leather uses. However, there are some key aspects that can help assess whether a certain product can be considered to a greater or lesser extent as sustainable, as Thoma will explain.
