Prices in the furniture, household equipment and maintenance category in the UK increased 0.9% between November and December 2016, mainly driven by a rise in prices for leather furniture. However, the increase was lower than in the corresponding figure the prior year, when prices were up 1.1%, according to according to figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) in its Consumer Prices Index for December 2016.
In November 2016, furniture and carpet prices rose 1.5%, compared to a 0.1% drop in the previous month of October. The figure was also higher than in November 2015, when prices increased 0.2%. Read more here.
