“We have taken the leather sector to second position among the country’s export products and our government expects to reach its ambitious goal of generating US$5 billion in exports by 2021 from this sector. We encourage the private sector to come forward to achieve this goal”, he said in his speech during the inauguration ceremony.

Leathertech, which is organised by ASK Trade & Exhibitions, showcases machinery, components, chemicals and accessories for the leather, footwear and leather goods sectors of Bangladesh and runs concurrently with the third edition of the Bangladesh Leather Footwear & Leather Goods International Sourcing Show (BLISS). Over 300 exhibitors from nearly 20 countries and regions are showcasing finished leather products, machinery for tanning and manufacturing footwear and leather goods along with components like dyes and chemicals, accessories and allied products.
