After the success of the last event held in Rio de Janeiro in 2011 the next congress will take place in the State of Guanajuato which is the centre of the Mexican footwear and leather industries. “Leon produces 70% of the 244 million pairs of shoes made in Mexico, but this is not the only reason. Mexico is an example of an open market and has signed several free trade agreements with major trading partners around the world including NAFTA”, says Jean Pierre Renaudin, President of CEC (European Confederation of footwear Manufacturers) and the French Footwear Federation.

The fifth congress will be organised by Anpic, CICEG (Mexican Footwear Technical Institute) and CEC with support from the local state and city government in Leon.
