A total of 123 selected exhibitors, including tanneries, accessories, components, alternative materials are presenting their work-in-progress and samples for Summer 2019 during the two-day event aimed at U.S. buyers and brands. The collections showcased in the preview have been inspired by the ‘Empathy’ theme developed by the Lineapelle Fashion Committee, which will be further explored in three seminars during the event. The events’ programme also features a workshop titled ‘Know Your Leather’, where leather is analysed as a material.

This edition welcomes five different Brazilian business groups for the first time, through the Brazilian Leather project developed by the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB); Cortume Krumenauer, Courovale by BCM, Curtume Natur, Nova Kaeru, and Soubach Special Leathers.

First launched in January 2001 with the participation of 25 exhibitors, Lineapelle New York has continuously grown, and the last edition in July 2017 welcomed over 1,300 visitors. The U.S. market is considered of fundamental importance for the Italian leather industry, which tripled its exports in value between 2009 and 2016, according to the organisers.

The New York preview precedes Lineapelle Milano, to be held February 20-22 at Fieramilano Rho.
