The late March edition of Lineapelle was scheduled to take place as part of a strategic networking event summarised by the slogan #strongertogether, alongside the Micam, Mipel, The One and Homi – Fashion & Jewels trade shows, all dedicated to the supply chain for the fashion and luxury industries.
“Under Italy’s Prime Ministerial Decree concerning the Covid pandemic, physical trade shows are prohibited until March 5, 2021, and even if such events should be allowed from March 6 onward, it would not be possible to guarantee the quality and prestige that have come to be associated with the events”, said the organisers, citing that a large number of international buyers would not be able to attend due to persisting travel restrictions.
The organisers said they will now focus on developing digital initiatives over the coming weeks. “Though virtual events cannot fully replace physical ones, this will offer exhibitors an opportunity to digitally present their collections and the results of their undeniable creativity”, they said.
