For this forthcoming edition, Lineapelle New York will present a complimentary trend preview for the Summer 2021 season, alongside the Italian Leather Sustainability report 2019. A Fashion Trend Area will also be set up and visitors are invited to join the ‘Italian aperitivo time’, to be held on the second floor of the Metropolitan Pavilion. Seven Brazilian tanneries are to exhibit at the event with the support of the Brazilian Leather Project from the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB), which said that Lineapelle New York “brings together some of the most renowned fashion organisations with new brands and designers that have their own unique approaches”. The U.S. is Brazil’s second largest importer of leather, representing a 17.1% of the total leather shipped from Brazil in 2019, worth US$169.5 million.
Launched in 2001, the two-day event hosts some of the most exclusive European and International producers of leather, textiles and synthetics, footwear components, leather goods and upholstery.
