The show, held at the usual venue of the Metropolitan Pavilion in Manhattan, New York, opened its doors to a phase of new normality, according to organisers.

Lineapelle New York hosted 113 companies, 65 of which were Italian and about 90 were tanneries. Exhibitors reported that they were confronted with a necessarily lower number of buyers and stylists, but who nevertheless expressed “a real, concrete interest”.

Organisers also reported that companies at the exhibition said that, regardless of any digital evolution of stylistic and commercial relations, “personal contact is necessary. What you do in a meeting is irreplaceable,” especially in relation to exhibitions that, like Lineapelle, display materials for the fashion and luxury industry, for which “it is fundamental to transmit sensations and emotions”.

The next edition of Lineapelle is scheduled for February 22-24 at the Fieramilano Rho exhibition grounds in Milan, Italy, and will host more than 960 exhibitors and a series of projects that deepen the innovative, green and responsible approach of the supply chain, organisers say.
