The Germany headquartered automotive Group recorded a 3.1% drop in deliveries in August, compared with the same month in the previous year. Fewer vehicles were delivered in Europe than in August 2018, when deliveries were especially high as a result of WLTP. In Europe, deliveries totalled 316,500 units (-3.4), while they were up 3.3% in North America and +3.9% in South America. However, a 4.8% fall was recorded in August deliveries in the Asia-Pacific region, despite the Group increasing its market share in China, now the Group’s largest single market, where 341,100 units were delivered (-3.2%).

Between January and August, worldwide deliveries of Volkswagen passenger cars declined 3.8%, Audi -4.5%, Skoda -3.8%, while Porsche and Seat recorded a 0.9% and 7.2% increase in deliveries, respectively, in the period. Overall, VW Group deliveries declined -2.8% in the first eight months of the year.
