The event, titled, “The New Retail Culture”, focused on how retail is evolving beyond traditional sales into a broader cultural platform that integrates product, technology and lifestyle. Participants explored shifting consumer behaviours, the growing influence of artificial intelligence (AI), and the integration of categories such as fashion, beauty, wellness and design into unified retail ecosystems.
A key theme was the emergence of the “lifestyle curator buyer”, a cross-disciplinary role using data and cultural insight to shape purchasing strategies. AI was highlighted as a central tool, enabling buyers to interpret real-time micro-trends and translate complex data into actionable decisions.
Moderated by Orietta Pelizzari, the event adopted an interactive format with thematic discussion tables, reflecting a broader shift in the role of trade shows. Rather than standalone events, they are increasingly positioned as year-round platforms supporting continuous market engagement and insight.
Discussions also underscored a wider transformation in retail spaces, which are becoming hubs for experience, interaction and cultural exchange.
The initiative reinforced Milan’s position as a global hub for fashion and innovation, supported by the integrated Fashion Link Milano system, which unites major trade shows including Micam Milano, Mipel, TheOne Milano, Milano Fashion&Jewels, Lineapelle, Simac Tanning Tech and Filo.
This integrated approach will culminate in the September 2026 trade fair calendar, where multiple events will run concurrently, further strengthening Milan’s role as a central platform for the global fashion supply chain.
