French Minister visits Cuir A Paris

The French Minister for Industry, Arnaud Montebourg attended the Paris leather fair, Cuir A Paris on September 17 where he signed a “performance contract” with French footwear and leather technical institute, CTC. 

The contract outlines the strategic implementation of the part-government funded CTC, according to a plan developed with the French leather industry for the 2012-15 period.

The contract signature was signed at the show by Arnaud Montebourg along with Jean-Pierre Gualino, President of CTC’s Governing Council and Yves Morin, CEO of CTC.

After the signing ceremony, Montebourg met several French tanners, French chemical producer ATC and all of the domestic federation Presidents representing hides & skins, tanners, footwear, leather goods and shoe retailers.

During a press conference at the show he also discussed with the representatives of leather industries issues such as the French hide quality program, REACh, future training of young people into the leather industry, international trade and Chinese trade barriers etc.
