Visitor numbers stable at Tanning Tech

Published:  28 October, 2013

Assomac, the Italian tannery, leather goods and footwear machinery manufacturers association and organisers of the recent Tanning Tech and Simac fairs in Bologna, October 8-10 have reported a stable number of visitors this year. They said that the numbers are close to 2012 figures but they have not released specific data to substantiate the claim.

At this years show there were 248 exhibitors from 22 countries, representing machinery and equipment for the footwear, leather goods and tanning industries. Assomac also hosted official delegations from Eastern Europe (Bulgaria, Russia and Ukraine), North Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa (Algeria, Mali, Morocco, Tunisia), South America (Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Paraguay), the Middle East (Iran) and Asia (Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Mongolia and Pakistan).

Most tannery machinery exhibitors were present in Hall 35 of the Bologna Fiera and most decided to take smaller stands at the show this year, as they want to exhibit larger equipment every other year.

However, a few of the larger companies such as Cartigliano, Gemata, GER Elettronica, Bergi and others took larger stands to highlight some of their latest equipment.
