The full line-up of speakers has been confirmed for the ILM Automotive Leather Supply Chain Digital Forum on December 16, with topics ranging from leather’s link to deforestation to Scottish Leather Group’s blockchain traceability project with Jaguar Land Rover.
The full program will be as follows:
Giacomo Rossi, Senior Consultant - Mobility Europe at Frost & Sullivan, will speak on how we can analyse the sustainability impact of the leather industry value chain and monitor the impacts of automotive industry mega-trends.
Mauricio Bauer, Senior Director, Beef & Leather Supply Chains Markets at the World Wildlife Fund, will discuss how the industry can support action on deforestation free leather for the automotive sector and the challenges therein.
Christina Trautmann, Programme Manager at the Leather Working Group, will provide attendees with an update on how the organisation is driving improvement across the leather supply chain.
From Stahl, Global Technical Director Leather Chemicals Dr Harald Bauer and Global Market Manager Alexander Schieke will present the company’s work on Stahl Ympact as a cornerstone for sustainable automotive leather.
Following this, Dr Michael Meyer, Scientific Director at the FILK Institute, will present the organisation’s finding on its comparison of animal-based materials and animal-free alternatives.
Finally, Dr Warren Bowden, Sustainability and Innovation Director at Scottish Leather Group, will cover the group’s partnership with Jaguar Land Rover on a unique leather supply chain traceability project using blockchain technology.
Following the presentations, ILM Content Director Martin Ricker will lead a Q&A with the presenters.
