Italian sustainability consultancy Spin360 will be showcasing its latest sustainability services and products for the leather industry at APLF Dubai.

The company reports that sustainableleather.com will be its global platform for collecting initiatives aimed at improving sustainability and performance at every stage of the production process.

The services and products under this virtual banner will include:

  • Life Cycle Assessment and Simulation: a complete suite of LCA products and services for the leather industry. Within this, Spin360 will launched the Process simulation tool at APLF Dubai, a fully web-based application that allows the evaluation of leather tanning recipes in terms of process efficiency, environmental impact, cost, technical and quality aspects
  • Smart Drum: the first and only LCA-embedded patented drum, according to Spin360, empowering a scientific approach to tanning, produced in cooperation with Italprogetti
  • Biomat: a competence centre that the company says will support and harmonise the understanding of biomaterials sustainability from cradle to grave. During its first year, Biomat will focus on the life cycle assessment impacts of animal farming, in conjunction with leather production.

Sustainableleather.com will also host existing services from the company such as CSR and compliance platform Verified&Certified Steps (VCS) and leather traceability platform Map&Trace.

Spin360 will be located at booth H3-B02-IT, inside the Italy – UNIC pavilion at APLF Dubai, which will take place from March 30 – April 1.

Spin 360 CEO Federico Brugnoli will also be presenting at the ILM/APLF hybrid conference Future trends in a post-Covid leather industry on March 29, alongside Kim Sena, Sustainability Manager at JBS Couros, to discuss science-based environmental footprint reduction strategies.
