Indian tanner told to close for polluting river

The authorities in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh issued a closure notice to an Indian tanner on Saturday after the company failed to meet pollution control standards after being inspected in September. High BOD and COD levels as well as chrome were being discharged into a nearby river.
