SGS offers insights into leather sustainability

Paul Bridge from SGS will discuss how leather is one of the oldest and most sustainable materials in the world in an upcoming webinar.

‘Futureproofing the Leather Supply Chain’ will take place on November 23 at 2pm CET (1pm GMT), sponsored by Stahl and moderated by Deborah Taylor, Managing Director of the Sustainable Leather Foundation.

During the webinar, Bridge will discuss how the sustainability of leather has been hanging in the balance in recent years, as well as the effects on leather sustainability of green manufacturing processes, zero waste processing, bio-preservation and more.

About the speaker

Paul Bridge is Deputy VP C&P Softlines and Global Head of Footwear and Leather Services at SGS. He is a veteran of the footwear and leather industries with over 40 years of experience, starting his career in design and product development before moving into production management.

He lived and worked in Asia for over 10 years, running a footwear materials business in the U.S. and Europe. Bridge is a member of the Sustainable Leather Foundation advisory board and an advocate for leather and driving the leather sustainability message.
