BLC, in conjunction with APLF, will once again be organising a half-day conference in Hong Kong on Tuesday 31 March 2015.
The conference will focus on tanning technologies, with an exciting discussion around sustainability of available tanning systems, including chromium, wet-white, vegetable and other alternative tannages and synthetic technologies.
With brands and industry sectors becoming more involved in decisions relating to the leathers used in their products, as a result of legislative, performance and chemical issues, this area has growing significance across the supply chain.
Other topics to be covered include:
– Comparative life cycles
– Animal welfare within the leather industry
– Chemical management
– Alternative chemistries
– Emerging technologies such as nanotechnology
