Cotance to host seminar in Romania

Cotance is to host the first seminar of its "A Future for European Leather" project in Bucharest on April 24. The one-day seminar will feature presentations and discussions on the future direction for leather manufacture in Europe and is the first of a series of meetings being held across Europe in 2015.

The seminar will be hosted by Cotance Secretary-General, Gustavo Gonzalez-Quijano and Luc Triangle, Deputy General Secretary of the trade union, IndustriALL who are the social partners in the EU funded project. ILM columnist and blogger Mike Redwood will present one of the keynote lectures titled: Challenges & Opportunities for European leather in the short to medium term.

The seminar will also hear from Jean-François Aguinaga, Head of Unit, DG Enterprise and Industry, European Commission (TBC) titled: "Industrial Policy in the Juncker Commission". Jean-Claude Juncker is the new President of the European Commission in Brussels.

Following the presentations there will be a panel discussion focussing on the challenges facing the European tanning industry in the future.
