Leather trends and future challenges to be discussed in Milan

Trends and Future Challenges will be the title of the second World Leather Congress, scheduled for September 8 in Milan, on the eve of the next edition of Lineapelle, which will take place September 9-11. 

The congress organiser UNIC (the Italian tanners’ association) will be co-hosting the 2nd edition of the World Leather Congress which is sponsored by the European Commission, the Italian Ministry of Economic Development and Regione Lombardia.

ICT, the International Council of Tanners, will also co-host the event and are headed by the Italian tanner, Rino Mastrotto as ICT President and the Vice-President Chih Hsang (Richard) Pai from the Taiwanese Association (TILA). ICT members include tanners representing 37 countries from around the world.

Fondazione Edison a research company based in Milan, will analyse the current status of the global tanning industry and its future prospects. The sector is made up of 12,000 companies, 200,000 employees, with a turnover of about US$50 billion.
