Steve Trantum from Germany based leather chemical makers Trumpler has been elected as the new President of  the UK Society of Leather Technologists and Chemists (SLTC) at its AGM in Northampton on April 25.

Trantum takes on the two-year role from Amanda Michel of Leatherwise who becomes the Vice-President following a two-year term. The SLTC has seen a resurgence in support in recent years and this years annual conference and dinner was well attended by an international audience in Northampton.

Trantum told ILM that he hopes to build on the membership of the SLTC and increase its reach outside of UK to countries that don't have their own leather industry technical body.
