The LHTBI (The Leather & Hides Trades’ Benevolent Institution) held its 155th Annual General Meeting and lunch on May 7 at the Dyers’ Hall in the City of London. This was a lunch for the retiring President, Peter Crack of suede tanners, Charles F Stead & Co, Leeds.

Peter Crack raised £8,500 (US$12,750) for the LHTBI in his President’s Appeal.

The LHTBI Committee elected a new President, Richard Brown of Abbey England in Knutsford, Cheshire, UK.

The Leather & Hide Trades’ Benevolent Institution was founded in 1860 and still continues the work for which it was set up – to help former employees of the UK leather tanning trade and their dependents who are in financial need.
