Tannery to split-off goat leather division

Super Tannery is considering splitting-off its goat leather tannery according to reports in the Indian media. Located in Kanpur, the stock market listed company produces chrome and vegetable tanned leathers for a range of applications. The group has two tanneries, three footwear units and an accessories unit. 

A meeting of the Board of Directors of Super Tannery Ltd will be held on June 16, 2015, to discuss the proposal of demerger of Goat Tannery division of the Company to another entity.

Super Tannery Ltd (STL), established in 1953, started operations by processing 50 Buffalo hides per day, converting them into vegetable tanned leather for footwear soles. Since then, the company is one of the oldest and well-known leather related business from Northern India. From the time of producing leather for shoe soles, the company's product range now includes leather for footwear, leather goods, equestrian, soles and upholstery.
