APLF Ltd Director, Michael Duck provides an update on this years All China Leather Exhibition explaining that they only took five-days to move one of the largest trade events in the leather industry. He also visited ILM's new office at London's former Leathermarket and Leather Exchange buildings where a short video interview was conducted.
Due to the late announcement of a three-day national holiday by the Chinese government the organisers of the All China Leather Exhibition (ACLE) have rescheduled the show to take place August 31 - September 2. The date change has allowed Chinese visitors to attend the event on normal working days and the ACLE still represents a leading show to penetrate the second largest national economy in the world.
ACLE is the only leather event in Mainland China where so many buyers gather and can be seen under one roof during the three days of the exhibition. The dynamics of ACLE are reflected in its ongoing success since its first edition in 1998 and with more than 1,300 exhibitors, the range of leathers and chemical products plus machinery represent the whole supply chain of the leather making process.
Compared to previous years ACLE will be held in a challenging market environment as China’s government continues to enforce strict environmental regulations for polluting industries with the aim of protecting the health and well-being of inhabitants living near industrial clusters and tanneries. However, the Chinese economy is still anticipated to grow by as much as seven percent in 2015 and it is still a key market for the global leather industry.
