Italy is set to announce a special budget to boost promotion of Italian brands in the American market including leather goods.

Aimed at strengthening the Italian presence in the U.S and increasing exports to the American soil, Carlo Calenda, the Italian Vice-Minister of Economic Development, should announce a €20 million investment later today (July 21) to develop trade shows, special events and services backed by a major media campaign.

Italian exports to the U.S totalled US$5.6 billion in 2014. Exports of clothing, textiles and leather goods, among others, increased considerably in 2014, contributing to a 4.5% market share growth since 2013.
