Mercedes-Benz handed over 149,753 vehicles in July, growing 15.2%. New sales records were set both in the month of July and in the first seven months of the year (+14.7%).
A new sales record was posted in Europe, where 457,468 vehicles were handed over to customers in the first seven months of the year (+11.3%). In Germany, Mercedes-Benz confirmed its market leadership among the premium manufacturers, growing 7.8%.
In the NAFTA region the brand grew 3.9%, setting sales record in and per July. In Canada, Mercedes-Benz is again the market leader amongst the premium manufacturers.
In the Asia-Pacific region and for the first seven months of the year the brand grew 23.5%, while in July the growth was even stronger, reaching a rate of 30.8%. In China alone, where many other brands are currently struggling, the brand handed over 29,540 vehicles in July, representing an increase of 41.5% compared to the same month in 2014. In Japan and Australia, Mercedes-Benz continued to be the market leader among the premium importers.
“We passed the one-million mark already in July”, commented Ola Källenius, Member of the Board of Management at Daimler, responsible for Mercedes-Benz Cars Marketing & Sales. “Never before have we delivered so many cars to customers in the first seven months of a year. About a quarter of them are C-Class Saloons and Estates”.
