Hyundai Motor Group wants to move to the higher end of the automotive market, challenging Mercedes-Benz and BMW.
Korean car maker, Hyundai is planning to redesign its top-of-the-range, Equus by 2017, while Kia is re-engineering its Cadenza, to position themselves as direct rivals of the Mercedes-Benz E Class and BMW 5 series, together with Kia’s Genesis model. Hyundai is planning to undertake a massive engine upgrade with a new twin-turbo, 3.3-litre engine. Kia may also introduce the four-door coupe GT, first unveiled in 2011.
