Faurecia to invest US$8 million in U.S plant

Faurecia S.A is to invest US$8 million in expansion plans through its U.S subsidiary, Faurecia Automotive Seating LLC.

The global automotive seating manufacturer announced on Friday (November 6) that it plans to invest US$8 million to upgrade its Sterling Heights plant in the state of Michigan.

According to Michigan Economic Development Cop, the project is supported by a US$350,000 performance-based grant and should create 90 jobs.

The company plans to move its warehousing operations from the Sterling Heights plant to another location as part of the project.

Faurecia has already made several investments in Michigan in recent years including US$19.2 million to house and manufacture interiors from a new facility located in Fraser and expanding its headquarters.
