Sometimes smaller is better. This is certainly the case when it comes to Chemtan R-108, a retannage designed to selectively fill the flanks and the empty areas of the hides.

Chemtan R-108 is a versatile retanning polymer which can be used to produce a wide range of leathers, from soft glove and nappa leather to firm shoe upper. It has a low pH and anionic charge.

Chrome stable, it is normally added before the rechrome. It improves the break without compromising lightfastness. Leathers retanned with Chemtan R-108 are also more receptive to impregnation.

Based in New Hampshire, U.S, Chemtan is a privately held, small company developing and manufacturing leather chemicals sold to tanners in 33 different countries.
