The 32nd edition of Première Vision New York opens its doors today at Pier 94 and will showcase leather collections for the first time in its history.
Known for its premium offer of fabrics, accessories and textile designs, the show now brings the five activity sectors together in the U.S. Broadened to include leather and manufacturing, the event becomes a unique destination for buyers to develop collections. A total of 364 companies, selected according to strict Première Vision criteria, will be present at Pier 94.
The 30 companies premiering in the Leather space include Conceria Samanta with its fantasy skins, Tanneries Haas, offering an extraordinary palette of calf skins for leather goods, Nova Kaeru and its exotic skins, as well as lambskin specialists Mégisserie Lauret, RG Deri, CKD Cetinkaya, and Cuirs du Futur.
The show is also an opportunity to visit Mégisserie Alric, winner of the 2015 PV Awards Grand Jury Prize for the most outstanding and pertinent development in the season’s leathers. Read more here.
Two distinct and complementary spaces have been set up to showcase trends and foster inspiration: the Color Range by Première Vision and the Trend Forum.
As for the Paris show, Première Vision Leather, a total of 266 exhibitors from 24 different countries have confirmed their presence, including the world’s most exclusive furriers such as Saga Furs, Henri Gruber, Terzaku and Orylag.
Regarded as a sensitive sector, the major breeder associations and the international industry authorities have increased their efforts in the fur sector to formulate regulations that combine pleasure with ethics, considering the environment and the wellbeing of the animals.
Exclusive collections being presented in Paris include Saga Furs’ couture techniques for American Tanning to combine two of the fashion world’s most precious materials: alligator and fur, as well as Orylag’s ultra soft fur with rare fineness and exceptional density. Orylag is an exceptional breed of rabbit, known for its culinary qualities and whose meat is sold under the name of Rex du Poitou, served in the finest restaurants.
