China leather exports rise in October

The China Leather Industry Association (CLIA) has released total leather and leather product exports for the month of October. The Chinese leather sector completed exports worth US$67.4 billion dollars between January to October 2013. This is an increase of 9.2% (by value) compared with the same period in 2012. Exports for the month of October were up 14.5% at US$7.13 billion. 

Monthly figures from January to October are as follows:

  • January: US$8.35 billion, +39.3%
  • February: US$5.25 billion, +91.9%
  • March: US$4.34 billion, -12.4%
  • April: US$5.76 billion, +2.0%
  • May: US$6.73 billion, -2.2%
  • June: US$7.15 billion, -1.2%
  • July: US$7.70 billion, +0.2%
  • August: US$7.55 billion, +3.0%
  • September: US$7.40 billion, +6.0%
  • October: US$7.13 billion, +14.5%.
